How we measure
What every number, label and comparison in a report does and doesn't mean.
Search visibility
We run about five searches a customer would use, as a mobile phone at a stated point in your town, and record who appears in the Google Maps listings and the ordinary web results. Positions describe that sample on that day. We never say you "rank #n in Perth".
Competitors
A competitor is a business that appeared in the same sampled searches, shares your main category and is nearby. We tell you why each was chosen. We do not know which business a customer would pick.
Reputation
Ratings and review counts come from each Google listing. Review themes are counted from written reviews and only shown when at least eight reviews are available and a theme appears at least twice.
Websites
We read the home page as a phone would receive it, then run Google's mobile speed test. Speed scores are lab measurements of loading, not predictions of enquiries. We check at most three important links, with a light request.
What each label means
Confirmed observation we measured it.
Plausible opportunity the measurement fits a likely improvement.
Requires confirmation only you can tell us if it applies.
Insufficient information we won't guess.
What we looked at, and what we did not
What we looked at
- 5 Google searches on a phone, around Perth, Perth and Kinross
- The Google listing for you and 2 close rivals: rating, review count, details
- 2 home pages, read as a phone receives them
- Google's mobile speed test
What we did not look at
- What reviewers actually say (we count ratings only in this report)
- Who a customer would actually choose. We do not know that
- How many people search each phrase
- Your own figures: calls, enquiries or sales
- Anything behind a login, or added to a page by scripts
This report
- Search positions are a sample taken from one point, on a mobile phone, on the dates shown. Google results vary by place, person and time; they are not a ranking across the whole town.
- A competitor is a business that appeared in the same sampled searches and offers the same main service. We do not know which business any customer would choose.
- Website checks read the home page as a visitor's browser would receive it before scripts run. Content added by scripts may be missed.
- Speed figures are Google's lab test (Lighthouse, mobile). They describe load behaviour, not enquiries or sales.
